Look Out, New England

Thursday - September 6, 2007

Next month we’ll be traveling to the New England chapter of the National Speakers Association. If you’re attending that meeting, we wanted to give you a way to send us questions ahead of time to make the workshop as useful as possible. If you’re not attending that meeting – well, heck, these blog things allow you to play right along with the New England chapter.

Dear New England Chapter Members:

We are thrilled to be working with you at your October 13 meeting.

Our topic is Internet research, but don’t freak out – it’s far from the dry, academic topic you might have feared.

Take a moment to scan these eight categories and then send us your questions, needs, challenges and issues around these topics:

  • SEARCH ENGINE STRATEGIES. Use Google or Yahoo or any other search engine to get what you need faster and more efficiently than you ever thought possible.
  • THE INVISIBLE WEB. Get to the incredible resources on the Internet that simply can’t be accessed by general search engines (…big secret – that’s almost everything!)
  • THE PAID WEB. If you pay a little—(and sales leads are just the beginning) – you’ll get a lot of value for both your business and your personal life.
  • THE INTERACTIVE WEB. Go way beyond the much ballyhooed sites like LinkedIn and MySpace. Blogs, online surveys and collaboration sites can transform your business.
  • NEWS RETRIEVAL. Find the cure for “information overload.” Don’t search when you can have what you need and want delivered to you for free.
  • THE “VIRTUAL” INVISIBLE WEB. You would never even know to search for these things in the first place. You can’t find it if you don’t know about it.
  • NUCLEAR NETWORKING. Network with the best and the brightest from around the world. The Internet is by far the largest, and most ignored, networking arena ever invented.
  • THE FREE WEB. Learn about these new, creative and free services to compete in today’s Flat World. The ROI on free is infinity.

Aw, Don’t Make Me Read Something!!

We’ve picked four articles to introduce you to our topic. Read one or two of these – or just shoot us off some questions that are specific to your needs. We may well have written something about what you are looking for before. If not, we’ll research it and work with you at the October meeting.

You can write to us at michael@goldencompass.com or sheryl@goldencompass.com – or just give us a call at (303) 517-3584.

Here are the four sample articles that we’ve chosen. Anyone reading more than those will get a gold star (click the titles below to read them):

Who Are These Guys?

Michael Benidt and Sheryl Kay from Golden Compass are information experts. Everyone calls them “the Google Guys.”

But, they go way beyond Google – to the “Invisible Web.” This is the stuff speakers only dream about

What will you leave their workshops with? How about:

  • New places to find sales leads
  • Creative ways to build your content
  • Inventive networking strategies
  • Free business tools you never knew existed

And, you’ll discover why you can’t afford to ignore M.E.O. – “Mind Engine Optimization.”

Nobody really understands exactly what Michael & Sheryl do. But it’s absolutely fresh, slightly whacked and super useful. You have to see it to believe it.

Find out why NSA members like Shep Hyken, Mark Sanborn and Judy Buch are doing hand-flips over these guys – or just ask NSA New England members Steve Lishansky, Carol Copeland Thomas or Susan Friedmann.

Today, no matter what business you’re in…

  1. When you have a chance to see Michael and Cheryl do a program, make sure you sit in the front row and be ready to take lots of notes. They are loaded with great information and ideas that you can use immediately!

  2. If my car was in better shape, I’d make the long trip out from Colorado to attend. It’d be worth it. I’m another one doing hand-flips over these guys. The power of Google, social networking and other internet tips can dramatically change your business. Don’t miss it.

  3. I’ll tell you how good Michael and Cheryl are: they taught Scott Friedman how to use email! Scott kept typing out messages and stuffing them into his disk drive…

Seriously, these two rock. I’ve been attending NSA events for years and found their ideas to be very refreshing, unique and valuable.

  4. These guys know their stuff and definitely practice what they preach. Can’t wait to see them again to learn more tricks, tips and techniques to use our most powerful marketing tool ever – the internet!

  5. These two individuals know their stuff. Your sure to gain a ton of information from their seminars.

  6. Anyone who fancies themself a serious business person cannot afford to miss what Michael and Sheryl have to offer about effectiveness in using the internet to find what you need and want – quickly and efficiently. In terms of sheer speed and time savings, clarity in the midst of the otherwise confusing web, and direct, tangible, financial benefits – this is some of the best, most accessible, most applicable, and most valuable information you could get anywhere. I am amazed at how much they have taught me – and I am sure you will be too!

  7. I am still in awe of the depth of Michael and Sheryl’s Internet knowledge. They wowed us in Denver at the 2007 Educational Workshop, and were stellar guests on my radio program. I look forward to learning even more with their upcoming October 13th program at the NSA New England chapter meeting.
